Foresight for visioning science, technology and innovation policy

Bright Future

16:15 - 17:00

We, NISTEP, have nearly 50 years’ experiences of foresight, along with an examination of the evolution of the Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) policy framework. We attempted to contribute to the process of formulating the S&T Basic Plan, which was determined by the Cabinet. We are improving our foresight to share future visions with our stakeholders in STI policy.

Additionally, evidence-based policy making is significantly important to promote STI Policy to obtain confidence of a citizen. It relates to the concept of open science and open government. We would create new methods integrating conventional foresight and “horizon scanning”.
